Step into being a bold learner on a unique journey of transformation, where you'll develop racial consciousness and tools for becoming more culturally competent.  This training is more than information; it's a chance to develop skills and build connections with members of your team who want to know how to do things differently and live more equitably. 


Our introductory Equity Foundations training includes: common definitions, a theoretical framework for understanding and addressing systemic racism, and foundational agreements for connecting people with different life experiences and identities. We make these tools come alive in four critical ways:


  • We tell stories from our own lived experiences through a racial lens.
  • We provide experiential activities that demonstrate the tools in real-time.
  • We ask thought-provoking questions and invite people to reflect on how their experiences relate to the questions in small groups. 
  • We intentionally slow things down to allow people to absorb their learning so it sticks. 


Your staff will walk way with:


  • New communication protocols that will help engage various perspectives in conversations about race and race equity.
  • New tools that you can bring back to your organization to facilitate greater collaboration, enhance team dynamics, and enable challenging conversations to take place.
  • A foundational understanding of the system that can be shared with others, ensuring that when you initiate a conversation about equity, everyone has a common starting point and understanding for meaningful engagement.


Typically a 2.5-day training, we will work with you to customize a version that works within the timeframe you have available.
